Most stakeholders outside of the events space don’t understand our jobs, our language or the industry. However, the events and experiential space is typically the first or second largest line item in the marketing budget and a sizable budget within companies as a whole. In fact, in the “2014 Marketing Outlook” study by B2B Magazine, events are cited as the second largest in spending just behind digital. Due to this, together with the increased ability for measurability in marketing, the event space has come into the spotlight, with the primary question of “value” at stake —the CMO has been in many ways “forced” to pay attention and is looking to integrate the digital and physical world together.
