Microsoft: Build 2018

Buzz filled the atmosphere throughout the Washington State Convention Center as drones from on high and crowds from the floor moved through the halls. Microsoft’s flagship developer conference, Microsoft Build, was underway. Group Delphi lead the entire project, from concept, to the layout of the tradeshow floor, graphics, and the management of several hundred booth properties. The goal of the annual conference is to show developers the latest from Microsoft — including software that follows eye-movement, smart-home technologies, the latest in drones, and much more.

Modern Design Elements of wood incorporated throughout the stands and theaters maintained the consistent, sophisticated design look and feel across the floor. Clear plexiglass rooms with aluminum trim provided a modern open and airy feel for client meetings while still providing privacy for discussions. Several educational theaters sprinkled the show with intimate half-circle seating arrangements of curved, cushioned benches.
Outstanding Results The event drew 9,665 over the course of the conference — outperforming 2017 with a 9% increase in total attendees. All 60 Mavic Air Drones sold out while 428 visitors spent an average of 42 minutes in the drone search and rescue lab — a primary goal of Microsoft’s.
Advanced Performance Tracking Heat-mapping technology was incorporated to track the performance of individual booths and attendee flow. This technology recognizes individual faces without recording them — finding patterns in traffic that ultimately dictate how Group Delphi and Microsoft improve audience experience in the future.
“I can’t wait to see what you all build.”
